The official inauguration of the Socio Educational Ministry San José took place on 19th March, the feast of St. Joseph.
The event was attended by members of the Animation Team of the Sector of Madrid and the District ARLEP, Directors and teachers from La Salle Schools of Madrid and the Province of Toledo, Brothers from other Lasallian Communities, volunteers from the Socio Educational Ministry, and boys and girls who benefit from this ministry, and accompanied by some family members and the School’s Management Team led by the Principal, Ms. Inmaculada González-Pola.
The ceremony was conducted by Brother Alfonso José Novillo, Director of La Salle Institución Community,where the new ministry is located. The new apostolate contributes the latest social and educational commitments of the District ARLEP and of the whole Lasallian Family, placing the most vulnerable children and young people in our environment at the centre of our mission. This celebration is framed within the 150th anniversary of the proclamation of Saint Joseph as Universal Patron of the Church and the beginning of the Lasallian Year of Saint Joseph.
We congratulate District ARLEP and especially the educational community of Colegio La Salle Institución, Madrid, for this new socio-educational commitment. We hope that their dreams will materialise in projects both at the level of the educational community itself and the surrounding area.
