Br. Santiago Rodríguez Mancini appointed Director of the Generalate
Br. Armin Luistro, Superior General of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, has appointed Br Santiago Rodríguez Mancini as Director of the Generalate. Br. Santiago has also been appointed Director of the Office of Data Management and Research of the Institute.
Brother Santiago was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1960.
Primary Education teacher, catechist specialised in adolescents, teacher of Religious Sciences; he holds a Degree in Humanities with specialisation in Literature and Philosophy. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Philosophy, Religion and Contemporary Cultures.
For ten years he has served in various educational works at primary and secondary level, in the areas of Ethics, School Catechesis and Religious Education. For twenty-six years he was a teacher at higher education level in different institutions (Buenos Aires and Cordoba), always focused at the intersection of Social Sciences, Aesthetics, Philosophy and Theology.
For over twenty years, he has served as a formator of Brothers in all stages of initial formation. He served for fifteen years in Pastoral Ministry for the Young in the schools.
He coordinated the formation of Brothers and Laity in his District for fifteen years and the Educational Pastoral for five years. He was Director of the Novitiate (2004-2010 and 2013), Visitor of La Salle Argentina-Paraguay (2010-2013) and President of La Salle Argentina Foundation (2016-2022). For more than 20 years he has collaborated with the formation of religious from other congregations, with other Districts of his congregation and with CIL* and SIEL**.
He has written more than forty books and more than thirty articles on educational pastoral work and school catechesis, Lasallian spirituality and the biography of several Brothers. He was editor of the magazines Asociados (Associated) (2016-2023) and Segunda Línea (Second Line) (2029-2023).
Until July 2023, he was Rector of the De La Salle High School and Director of the Pastoral Institute of Adolescence in Buenos Aires.
His term in office in Rome started on 1 September.
