Br Armin Luistro, Superior General, has appointed Br Thomas Walsh as Auxiliary Visitor for the District of Ireland-Great Britain-Malta. Br. Tommy will thus work together with Visitor Ben Hanlon, and the other Auxiliary Visitor, Michael Curran, for the period from 30 June 2022 to 31 August 2023.
Br Tommy took the habit in 1981, made his first vows in 1982 and perpetual vows in 1992. He pursued a teaching career at De La Salle College in Waterford, but also spent five years in Nigeria and another five and a half years in India.
For the past 22 years he has been instrumental in advancing the Lasallian Programme for the Developing World.
On receiving the appointment, Brother Thomas Walsh said he was looking forward to ”taking on this new role and doing what I can to support the Mission”. ”I am honoured to have been asked to take on this position and it is my goal to support the Mission team and help anyone in need of assistance,” he added.
