On October 1, 2019, the Superior General appointed Br. Artur Skoczek as the new Visitor of the District of Poland for a period of three years from October 1, 2019 to September 30, 2022.
Br. Artur Skoczek was born in Kolbuszowa in 1963 (Podkarpackie province). He joined the Congregation in 1985, after taking his religious vows he worked as a teacher at the Częstochowa Special Educational Centre and then for five years as the Director of this institution. He served as a catechist for six years in the secondary schools of Warsaw, and for five years, was catechist and Director of the Brothers’ community in Lublin. In addition, for the past 10 years, he has been the Director of the social welfare house for severely disabled youth run by the Congregation in Przytocko.
He holds master’s degrees in educational pedagogy (University of Rzeszów), philosophy (University of Warsaw), education management (Lublin), social security management (University of Kazimierz Wielki in Bydgoszcz), and as a personal data protection inspector (Toruń High School).
In Poland, there are currently 11 communities and 11 works, including centres for the mentally disabled. The educational mission is carried out by 50 Brothers for a total of 3,348 students.
